Public Meeting : Parking, Policing & Paths
Jun 14, 2024
Everyone is invited to a public meeting at 7pm on Thursday 20th June at the hall where the GCA will breviewing what is needed across the town to better manage parking and consider what new footpaths are needed.
In particular we will look at:
Bus/coach parking - short term drop off/pick up, longer term parking, problem spots
Enforcement - is CCTV acceptable to the community if it enables parking enforcement? What other options
are there?
Footpaths - as our streets have become busier and we have more families living here, what new footpaths
might we need to be formed over the coming years?
Known parking hot spots - outside the school, Mull Street, alongside the marina. How do we reduce the
impact of these, prevent damage to verges and enable safe pedestrian access?
What can we do to improve things when there is very little $$ available?
The purpose of the meeting is to identify what good outcomes look like for our community so that the GCA can advocate for implementation.
QLDC staff will be in attendance to answer questions and offer advice.
