QUEENSTOWN LIBRARY UPDATE
Dec 3, 2021
Kia ora from your local librarian, here's an update of our library services under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework. As of 3 December, the traffic light system will be in effect and while we are at the Orange light, you will need to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 to visit the Glenorchy library.
Visiting libraries under the traffic light system
My Vaccine Pass
My Vaccine Passes will be required from Friday 3 December to enter all Queenstown Lakes Library branches.
Your vaccine pass will be scanned before entering the library, so it is important to have this ready before your next visit. If you haven’t already, please visit the My Covid Record website and get your vaccine pass. If you need assistance generating your Covid Vaccine Pass, please let one of our library team know and we will do our best to assist you.
This also applies to kids over 12. Please keep in mind that children 14 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult to enter the libraries.
We have the right to refuse entry if no proof is provided.
Orange alert level
We will be at the Orange alert level when the traffic light system comes into effect from 3 December. This is largely the same as alert level 2, so it's important to still:
Wear face coverings. Please wear a correctly fitted mask at all times. If you have a mask exemption, please be prepared to show it
Practice physical distancing. Keep a 1 metre distance from people at all times
Check in to the library by scanning the QR code on entry. This helps us keep track of community transmission when we have a COVID case
Adhere to capacity restrictions at each library location
Limit your visits to 15 minutes
Regularly wash hands and practice good hygiene
Please note:
Public toilet facilities may not be available at all libraries
Seating in the libraries is limited
Public internet computers have limited numbers and time limits in place
Meeting rooms are not available to the public
Programmes and events
There are no changes to our existing services, programmes and events:
Our libraries are operating as per normal operating hours
Our printing/scanning/copying facilities remain unchanged
Wifi services remain unchanged (bear in mind time limits in the library)
Bookings are required for any library events, please check the What’s On page for upcoming events and requirements
If you're unable to visit our Libraries
Our Libraries Online page has links to all of our online learning resources as well as information on how to use our eBook and audiobook apps: Libby/Overdrive and BorrowBox, as well as Beamafilm for our range of documentaries and films.
MyBookBag is our handy ‘click and collect’ service which is available at Arrowtown, Frankton, Hāwea, Queenstown and Wānaka libraries.
We appreciate your understanding during this time and feel free to reach out to your friendly librarians if you have any questions.
Kā mihi, take care from the Queenstown Lakes District Council Library team
