What lucky lucky people we are - we got a small window of gorgeous weather in these mighty gales for the fishing competition on Saturday!
What a great day! 164 entries and raised about $2600 for school.
HUGE THANKS TO THE BUSINESSES THAT SPONSORED OUR EVENT! Without your support this wouldn't be possible! The overall winner was Hayley Jones of Glenorchy!
Cheers to all the parents who contacted the businesses on their list. Many hands make light work.
Thanks heaps to Gorettie, Sarah Walker, Jenny Davies, Candi Russel, Amber Frew and Cliff from Fish and Game Cromwell for helping at the weigh-in and prize giving...
RESULTS - GLENORCHY FISHING COMPETITION 2015
- Catching a 1.7kg brown trout netted Glenorchy's Hayley Jones the overall win at the annual fundraiser, which attracted 164 entries - some from as far away as Hokitika.
- Palmerston's Alison Joyce had second-best fish at 1.39kg, while the best man's catch was Lachie Davidson, of Ashburton, with a 1.33kg brown trout.
- Palmerston's Max Joyce (10) won best junior-child category fish, with a 0.86kg catch. The Joyces also took the best family catch.
- Best local catch went to the Veint/Scott family.
- The smallest family catch went to the Higgins Family from Glenorchy.
- In the hard-luck category, Jackie Bishop dropped in her 5-day-old iPhone 6S, and Glenorchy's Allanah Walker (13) dived off the wharf to go after a snagged lure.

The PTFA would like to express our sincere apologies to Mike Spencer who donated two beautiful fishing Rods and we have mistakenly put him down under his partner's name "The Dakin Family"
