Update on Paradise Chainsaw Course
This is a two day course. Each day is run one month apart, to allow you to practice what is taught on day one, before moving on and being assessed on day two
Due to a high number of people wanting to complete the course, the first day of the course has now been confirmed for Monday 18th & Tuesday 19thof April. The second part of the course will follow in May (dates to be confirmed)
For those of you who have expressed interest could you please email info@paradisetrust.co.nz with your preferred day in April, for the first part of the course.
Chainsaw Courses include the following unit standards
6916 – Demonstrate knowledge of a chainsaw
6917 – Use a chainsaw to make cuts
On the day ALL participants must bring:
- a copy of either there birth certificate or passport as evidence of their citizenship. This is a funding requirement.
- Steal capped boots
- $10 for use of the Glenorchy School
If you have your own chainsaw you may bring it along. If you do not have any gear that is fine as everything, apart form steal caps boots, will be provided.
A Subway lunch will be provided on the day or bring your own if you have other preferences!
COST:
Foreign Nationals (for participants who are on a work visa, that aren't a NZ resident or citizen): Cost is $115 (Includes GST) per person, per course.
NZ or Australian Citizens: Can be funded for free if you choose to do the Telford Certificate in Farming Practices.
This requires 3 training courses and a compulsory health and safety course.
Courses available are: Chainsaw, quad bikes, Tractor, motorcycles, LUV, 4WD's
There is also funding for a one off Training for Chainsaws, if the participant is NZ or Australian citizen or permanent resident.
