CIVIL DEFENCE WELFARE CENTRE (CDWC) COURSE

Otago CDEM in partnership with QLDC is running a one day civil defence welfare centre (CDWC) course in Glenorchy.
24th of November 2018 – Humboldt Room, Camp Glenorchy, Glenorchy
Everyone is welcome to attend the course.
There is no cost to attendees.

It is a very practical and friendly course. Subjects covered in include:
1. Registration of evacuees and displaced people
2. Care of animals and pets
3. How to physically set up a civil defence welfare centre (CDWC)
4. Using and filling out welfare forms and documentation
5. Security needs for a CDWC
6. Understanding local, regional and national Civil Defence structures and arrangements including local Community Response Plans
7. Child welfare & safety
8. Dealing with missing person issues
9. Dealing with traumatised people
10. Psychosocial Needs
